I love these blogs though. Sid Roth sometimes gives me the heebie-jeebies, and at other times I think that if the people garner some faith in Christ because of his message then it must be ok. I will say that the Holy Spirit is our guide to the truth through Christ Jesus, and thus the Father. I am all too aware of how many people claim to know and love God but can't quote scripture, and don't know the bible well at all - and so for those people Sid Roth might be just enough nourishment to encourage them to look a little harder - because God can take lemons and make lemonade - even from Sid's simple message, especially for those that have untested faith who watch his show. I always noticed that Sid's prayers on the show are very broad and very non-specific whereas not too long ago I received an inner-ear healing from watching 700 Club. I pray to God to show me, and have been on the side-streets and on the main roads in my own lifetime with the Lord, and let me tell you, if you seek you will find, and if you ask, it shall be given you, so if anyone doubts gold dust signs, angel feathers fluttering from heaven, and God's money baskets (all Sid Roth segments) by all means ask God and let him show you the way. I think that whether or not his message is mostly false, for the blissfully unaware it might be what they need to hear, which may push them into the bible. Because lets face it God always wins those he is after. Everyone needs to remember that they too were once not well versed in scripture, and that God develops testimony differently in everyone. My testimony is mostly through my failure and the pure Grace the Lord has shown me. I have a very strong voice when it comes to quoting scripture, scaring people off and looking like a jerk. I only recently began to try to tone down my voice, so the Lord's could be heard. Jesus doesn't have to shout to be heard, so I guess neither do I. I think the main reason this blogger is annoyed, is whether or not Sid Roth is a false prophet, and he may be - but he must encourage some people, and God looks after those people - and their salvation is in God's hands, and God is the one who paid for their meal ticket into the great feast, so let God show the individual, as he shows you, and as he surely shows me. Whoever wrote the main blog, just so you personally know, I mostly agree about Sid Roth - but let me share that I live in Israel, and prayed with some people here and taught them about Jesus and faith, in my own inner circle, not a ministry setting - and talking bluntly and telling people in a round about way that they are dumb (is totally me) but is also TOTALLY WRONG. Preach the Love of Christ - anything else in my experience thus far, isn't our responsibility. I can't carry them on my merrits into heaven, and they can't carry me.

By the way I live in Israel, and with or without Sid Roth these people need prayer, there is a major spiritual battle in this country. At this moment I know a 26 year old, and a 4 year old with cancer. They need prayer people. God may not supernatuarally heal them, but he sure can - I just don't know if any angel feathers will drop when he does. I have seen God work, and he is quiet. If angel feathers and gold dust were God's "signs" EVERYONE WOULD BELIEVE. God uses doctors, people, and many means to heal people - and faith is key. I could write forever. God bless.

Re: Our hearts are restless

All well said, isn't it, NT?

Re: I want my congregation to be lily-white

Jason, I appreciate you breaking me out of the shell that I sometimes find myself in. It's already just a mirror of a quite-segregated society. Go to any college campus and see how integrated the groups are there. The notion that the USA is a desegregated society is something of a myth, and the segregation on Sunday mornings is only more evidence of that.

Re: I want my congregation to be lily-white

The major problem is that differing worship styles and forms appeal to differing groups and demographics, so by default, if you do not appreciate traditionally black forms of worship (which are typically more exuberant) or traditionally white forms (which are traditionally more reserved) or contemporary rock-syle worship, or traditional hymnodies, or IHOP-style prophetic worship then you are going to fall into certain categories and gravitate to certain congregations because of the styles with which you grew up. Sunday morning is even more segregated by tastes of worship, so if we are truly going to integrate in every way, and overcome the HUP church planting methodology of many church planting practitioners, including Wagner, et al. then we are going to have to integrate, to a certain noticable degree, all forms of worship, and git rid of the contemporary/traditional worship disparity, and we are going to have to make room for the pentecostal modes of permitting freedom for the gifts of the Spirit to operate. Now, tell me, how realistic is this really, this ideal of fully integrating all aspects of Sunday morning. As a half-Methodist-Anglican/half-Pentecostal-Charismatic Christian, I welcome this integration and the day when non-pentecostals can appreciate pentecostal forms and vice versa, but the bitter truth is that, until we all lay down our pride of worship forms and prefer the other, such ideals will remain little more than a dream.

Re: There is a Remedy – Apollo Quiboloy, you are not it.

Christ also called the Pharisees vipers and Paul called the Judaizers foolish. I am so thankful Jesus died for our sins, and I am so Thankful that when he forgives us.. he also forgets them.
David was a man after Gods own heart... he sinned, same as Jim Bolin.... but I don't see anywhere in the Bible where God gave up on him.
And to anyone who thinks they are better or less sinful... might I remind you... I really doubt you have done as much to put a dent in the Kingdom of darkness as he has. The enemy goes after the ones who are a threat. It is a sad thing what he done... but it is under the blood... and he is forgiven and going on.
And do you not remember the Bible clearly says the calling and gifts of God will not leave us.... so Praise God... he repented and is going on... with much annointing.

Re: Bad Timing: Fall of Jim Bolin

I can understand why you wish Jim was still your Pastor..... he was just at our Church here in Yakima Washington... I came online and googled his name.... to look for his books he wrote. So far all I have found was about his fall.
All I can say is he is one annointed Man of God.... and if everyone is ready to throw him to the wolves.. and think he is no longer worthy to lead. I guess you are forgetting about David who wrote the Psalms and was a man after Gods own heart. God didn't throw him out after his sexual sins. No he went on with the Lord.
I love Jim Bolins preaching and the annointing is upon him. I thank God that when we face our sins and turn from them... God forgets them.
Well I am still going to see if I can find his books.... cuz I sure want them. But I just had to leave a post... cuz Jim is going after God... and I have to add... that I don't agree with sin.. but I do know the devil does try harder to bring down the ones who are doing things for God and are a threat to him.
I am so THANKFUL... that when I sin... God forgives me, and I can still go on and be a light for His Kingdom.

Re: President Obama is the Angel of Death – Colorado 62

Christians don't take much seriously, do they?

Re: President Obama is the Angel of Death – Colorado 62

Have you ever wondered what political discourse would look like if Christians took seriously the command to love our enemies and not to bear false witness?

I still wonder.

Re: Good News Glut – The Common English Bible

I do not doubt the scholarship, however, there are issues with the translations. The CEB website has an excellent blog where many of the more controversial translation choices (such as "the Human One") are explained and discussed. There is also a great translation comparison chart and a passage lookup tool (for the NT, which is all the has been released so far). http://www.commonenglishbib...

Re: The Eastern Orthodox Influence on Wesleyan Theology

Joel, just amazing.
